SOA Geneva is based at Collège du Léman (CDL) in Versoix, Switzerland. Established in October 2009 initially as ZOA, the SOA Committee at CDL consists of students in the High School who fundraise mainly to support capital projects at the Zambian orphanage: 'Serenje Orphans Childrens Home'. A regular bi-annual trip to Zambia has been initiated, with 3 such visits having occurred in 2010, 2012, and most recently in July 2014.
'SOA Tour du Lac' - Inspired by ex-colleague Ryan Blyth, a group of staff and friends from Collège du Léman cycle around Lake Geneva (Lac Lèman) usually on a weekend in May in order to raise funds for ZOA. The ride is over 190km and most of the group stop half-way on the Saturday Night for a meal and a few drinks together. Participants arrive back at the starting point late Sunday afternoon, saddlesore but satisfied that their funds raised will significantly assist the running of the Serenje Orphans Childrens Home (SOCH) in Serenje, Zambia. Annually, some £7000 is raised through this popular event.
